Canada set to compete in the inaugural Concacaf W Futsal Championship with FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup qualification at stake
Canada Soccer has announced the first-ever squad of 14 players selected to represent Canada at the inaugural Concacaf W Futsal Championship, set to take place from 28 April to 4 May 2025.
Appointed as the first-ever Head Coach of Canada Soccer’s Women’s Futsal National Team, Alexandre Da Rocha brings more than two decades of experience in both futsal and soccer. His leadership and expertise will guide Canada through this historic international debut.1

The 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship will feature nine participating nations, with all matches hosted at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The competition will determine the region’s first-ever women’s futsal champion and award two qualification spots to the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™.
Canada Plays in Group B
Canada will compete in Group B at the upcoming tournament alongside the United States, Costa Rica, and the winner of a play-in match between Honduras and Nicaragua. Canada will begin group play against Costa Rica on Tuesday 29 April, followed by a match against either Honduras or Nicaragua on Wednesday 30 April, before concluding the group stage against the United States on Thursday 1 May.
The tournament will officially kick off on 28 April with the play-in match between Honduras and Nicaragua to determine the final team in Group B. The group stage will run from 29 April to 1 May in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Knockout Stage.
The Knockout Stage will feature single-match Semifinals on Saturday 3 May, followed by the Final on Sunday 4 May, where the inaugural Confederation’s Champion will be crowned. The two finalists will also qualify for the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™.
The FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™ will take place from 21 November to 7 December 2025, featuring 16 national teams from across six FIFA confederations.
